Day 5, brought to you by Big Brother- 9 miles today

It's been a fantastically beautiful day. I got a message this morning from Kathleen of Momentummag's family blog saying that she published our article on their website! I'm so excited! I am finally starting to feel like a cyclist now. It's such a great and welcoming community...could it be a cult? Nah. But you should join us and buy this flower.

Anyway, on our ride today, I was really enjoying Big Brother's commentary from the back seat. I realized that that is probably the best part about riding with them. When I ride alone, I find myself wanting to point things out and shout funny things but that's not as fun, especially to those strangers around me. So I decided to share with you--the view from the back seat. I wasn't ready to hand over the camera but I did try to stop just about every time he pointed something out to me during the 3.5 mile trip to the zoo. My camera died at the zoo but he was pretty quiet on the way back anyway, what with each hand full of graham cracker and an hour past nap-time.

Here we go...
Picture
"Mama, look! Those trees don't have any leaves. They look like SKELETONS!!! Somebody's going to come and chop them down with their ax. They can chop the monsters. Rawr, rawr, rawr, RAWR" (and he kept growling for another mile).
Picture
"Look, Mama! That car got chopped. Why did it get cut? Was somebody driving in it and then they chopped it?"
Picture
Quick pit stop at the post office. He ran around wearing his helmet making tons of friends.
Picture
Finished at the post office and got the kids back on the bike. "I'm hungry, Mama!" Graham crackers for all. We were literally a mile from home at this point.

This is when we all yell out "SPEED BUMPS!!!"
Picture
All together now: "RAILROAD TRACKS!!!" and we have to determine whether they are freight train tracks or lightrail. In this case, it's freight train, lightrail, lightrail.
Picture
"That car is made from WOOD!!! That's really funny. It's such a silly car. Why is it made from wood, Mama?"
Picture
"They're playing GOLF!!" Then we all yell out "get a job, golfers!" (or maybe we don't but we probably should).
Picture
This part is almost too much for a pre-schooler to handle. The water, the geese, the fishermen. Holy cow, it was like an eye spy game back there.

Look, our bike has friends!

Big Brother took this photo as we were going into the zoo.

Big Brother's favorite part of the zoo! "Move outta my way! I have a big load!"

This is the jaguar for G'ampa.

"This ostrich is going to eat me if I climb up the fence." Thank you lady who threatened her child with this statement, as repeated to me by B.B. We bumped into some friends and I got a chance to have an adult conversation for a few moments. We also rode the merry-go-round. Big Brother got to ride the baboon.

So there you have it! The world according to a 3.5 year old. Isn't it wonderful? The ride home, as mentioned before, consisted of crunching graham crackers except for when we went under our favorite bridge. "ECHO!!! ECHO!!! ECHOOOOOO!!!!!".

Life is good.
