Today was just a quick ride to set up my exchange student table at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op--notorious for its terrible parking lot. Usually I have to park a couple of blocks away, carry all my gear, then either move my car every hour or risk getting a ticket. This time I pulled right up to the front bike racks, locked up, and carried everything about 50 feet. Then I sat at my booth talking with customers while keeping an eye on my bike and trailer. When I was done, I loaded everything back up and rode home in the most beautiful weather.
Adding a bike ride to my day has certainly brightened my mood. I find myself looking forward to errands instead of dreading driving. I have more energy and I am able to pull the trailer faster for longer. With the boys, their gear, my gear, and the weight of the trailer, I figured out that I am pulling an extra 90+ lbs. This is a great way to get in shape, for sure!
