Twelve miles in a steady downpour is a good way to figure out just how waterproof my gear actually is.
Turns out--they're not very waterproof. My pants held out until the last four miles and the fleece tights underneath kept me warm throughout. My jacket was waterproof last rainy season but it didn't hold up at all. Maybe a waterproofing treatment will help extend its life.
The boys, on the other hand, stayed toasty and dry. Thank you, Blaq Designs and Splendid Cycles!
Those are grumpy faces because I wouldn't let them eat my bagel. A mama's got to hoard her carbs sometimes.
