Today, however, we started the day with a ride to the park for our Saturday morning Mommy Group play-date. We even brought Lennon's Strider tucked in the Chariot's "trunk". I realized that our ride looks a lot like the backseat of a minivan--food wrappers, jackets, books, toys, blankets, and all. It's pretty messy back there.
After our park time, I dropped the kids off back at home and filled the trailer back up with my event supplies for my EHP work--4' table, stand up banner, and giant yellow tablecloth. That was my first real "cargo" load. I took it a couple miles down the road to my co-worker's house; a trip I would have usually taken by car and justified by saying I had too much to carry. On my way home, I stopped at the Co-op to pick up some tortillas, chips and dip for Jose and his buddy working in the backyard, and some cereal for the boys. It was pretty fun to feel so independent and not have to worry about finding a parking spot. All my errands were done for the day and the car hadn't been turned on once! Even Jose did a bit of running around town on his bike. It was such a pretty day, sitting in the car would have been a shame. I hope we still have this resolve when the weather isn't as great or our energy level isn't as high. Tomorrow, we have plans for a ride to church and a bit of fun along the American River Trail. Can't wait!
