What do you think is going on here:

A. It's the Hipster King's official bike

B. A unique solution to salmon bikers

C. Rider needed a variety of hand positions and bar ends just weren't enough

D. Other: ______________________________

I'm really glad they angled the points outward, at least. Not sure what their plan is for braking, however.

D: They're trying to be green, there is a lot of embodied energy in metal handlebars. It has a coaster brake too, so I think they're ready to rock!

Also, that is my single least favorite "bike rack" in town...

Good to know they won't be brake-less and pokey! I agree about the rack. Someone pointed out the stellar lock-job this guy did. It's not a very intuitive rack for sure!

Most likely either the outcome of a bike/deer crash on the parkway or the latest in bait bike strategies. I did wonder if the guy I saw in Ace Hardware wearing the all buckskin outfit might have some thoughts on this...?

I'm imagining a pair of handlebars mounted on the wall above this person's fireplace...

D. RAD! And what if you instead used actual ram horns instead of drop bars. RAD.

That would be so cool! Could you imagine longhorn bull handlebars?

Very creative. Would love a closer look at the stem.

For brakes - it's probably a fixie

to complete "the look" he/she should attach a rile/bow holster to the rear rack. http://montanascabbards.com/

D. Trying to disguise the bike as a deer for hunting

But, yeah, what about the brakes?

Keith noticed that there are coaster brakes so at least they're a bit safer!
