My dream bike is becoming a reality! The above photo, courtesy of Yuba Cycles, is a close approximation of our newest addition to our bike family. Large enough to carry two squirmy kiddos as well as another 300+lbs of cargo (not that I'd probably want to), this bike is going to be integral to our car-freer lifestyle. It be so much easier to pop on and off the bike and get around in smaller spaces. Today, at Practical Cycles on J st. in Old Town Sacramento, I forced Tim to rearrange his entire shop for me, just so I could get my sleeping Little Brother in the Chariot inside to talk about building my Mundo.
Between my elation and anticipation, every so often, I remember the amount of money we are about to invest into our new lifestyle and a tiny bit of nausea creeps in. Luckily, Lindsay, the crafty blogger behind You Ain't Got Jack, points out that the cost of fuel, the environment, exercise, and health easily justifies the need for a dependable and functional means of transportation. This is also going to free up a couple of bikes and our trailers so we can invite friends to join us as we galavant around Sacramento and explore farther into our new adventures. I can't wait!
